New WAVE was founded in the fall of 2005 by Westmont High School’s sophomore volleyball coach and former Club Elite coach Deidre Dunbar. Deidre, along with Kristi Vervack, trained 24 junior high players at the 13’s and 14’s age division from the Westmont and Lombard area. The success of the first season led to the addition of four more age divisions and six additional teams in 2006.

Since then, New WAVE play-ers have con-tributed im-mensely to many local high school programs and are poised to take their game to the next level. In 2012, our only senior has committed to play at Augustana College next year. While in 2011, New WAVE had all three of its seniors entering collegiate programs on full-ride scholarships to: Long Beach State, University of Illinois in Chicago, and Ken-tucky State University.
